Hope Academy’s Quick Tips for Anger Management
1. Take it easy
2. Delay your reaction
3. Focus on problem and not people
5. Stay calm
6. Eat right
8. Take a deep breath
9. Trust others
10. Forgive and forgetDo you know anger is a human emotion like any other emotions such as happy, sad, excitement etc. Being angry is also perfectly normal. It is just a natural reaction when we face or perceive any danger or threat situation. But there is a very fine line that divides normal and abnormal anger.
When it becomes a habit or when it is expressed in an extremely intense manner or when one is unable to manage it – then the anger qualifies to be abnormal. Abnormal anger has serious repercussions on not only our physical health but also on emotional, psychological and social health. Anger is linked to physical diseases such as high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, sleep difficulties, fatigue, being exhausted, acidity and digestion problems. Apart from these, it also impacts ones relationships with parents, spouse, children and friends.
The common practise of anger management is to cure the physical, emotional or behavioural aspects of it. But these are merely the symptoms of a deeper rooted problem in one’s mind.
The way in which you think and perceive situations triggers the undesired emotional state. It has generally been found that people who are bad-tempered have a set pattern of negative thought process that erupt anger when triggered. Just by acting upon the cause and effects of anger will not help much in the long run. We should improve what happens in between – our thinking – to bring about a permanent solution.
Hope Academy uses this approach for anger management. We cut the roots through two techniques – Meditation and Hypnotherapy.
